Post-doc Scientist, Molecular Biology
    Applied Biological Materials Inc. is a Vancouver-based biotech company that identifies and markets research reagents to the life science communities and biotech industries. A MITACS Post-Doctoral scientist position is currently open for application. The successful candidate will utilize their significant molecular biological expertise to develop novel genetic and cellular materials that have immediate commercial applications. Terms of employment: Permanent, Full Time
Number of Vacancies: 1
Locations: Richmond, BC

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following activities:
• The successful candidate will be independent in project planning and design.
• Other related duties as required on a project basis.

To be successful in this role, the candidate will have the following qualifications:
• Recent completion (within the last 3 years) or completion within the next 4 months, of a PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or Virology.
• Eligibility for MITACS fellowship is required.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, team environment.
• A strong publication record.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient experience in tissue culture and recombinant DNA technology is necessary.
• Experience in qPCR, next generation sequencing and recombinant viral vectors would be an asset.

Molecular Biology Technician

The successful candidate will utilize their molecular biology knowledge and assist in the development of novel genetic and cellular materials that have immediate commercial applications. • The successful candidate will assist the senior scientists with on-going projects.
• Production and QC following SOPs.
• Keep detailed records/documents.

To be successful in this role, the candidate will have the following qualifications:
• A Bachelor or Master of Science degree.

• Proficient skills in recombinant DNA technology are required.
• Must have coop experience or at least two years of employment at other laboratory settings.

Marketing Specialist
    Applied Biological Materials Inc. is a Vancouver-based biotech company developing and marketing research reagents for the life science community and biotech industry. A marketing specialist position is now available to further expand our exportation business.

Locations: Richmond, BC

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following activities:
• Developing and implementing our marketing strategies, especially to Asia market areas.
• Performing market analysis.
• Assessing characteristics of products and services and enhancing product visibility.
• Optimize product packaging.
• Other related duties as required on a project basis.
• Improve the sales with a target rate.

To be successful in this role, the candidate will have the following qualifications:
• A bachelor's degree is required in the related field.
• 4+ years of experience in marketing field; experience with China and Asian markets is definitely a plus.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, team environment.
• Must have strong communication and writing skills in English.
