|*Notes about Promo Codes: For NON-DISCOUNT promo codes (i.e. free items or shipping) please enter them during check out in the Notes/Promo Code field. To enter a DISCOUNT promo code enter it into the corresponding box in the 'Promo/% Off' column and then click 'Update' for the given product. If the code is valid for that product the discount percentage will display in place of the box and the amount will become the discounted total for that product(s). If the code is not valid it will remain in the box, please double check the expiry and spelling, and if you feel the code should still be accepted please contact us.|
|Alternative Names||CXCL10, C-X-C motif chemokine 10, 10 kDa interferon gamma-induced protein, Gamma-IP10, Small-inducible cytokine B10, IP10|
|Description||IP-10 shows homology to PF-4 (platelet factor-4) and belongs to the family of chemotactic cytokines known as chemokines. The receptor for IP-10 is CXCR3. IP-10 has been shown to bind to the virus-encoded viroceptor M3. The expression of IP-10 from a variety of cells, including monocytes, endothelial cells, keratinocytes, and fibroblasts, is induced by IFN-gamma and TNF-alpha. Human neutrophils produce IP-10 in response to IFN- gamma in combination with either TNF-alpha or bacterial lipopolysaccharides. IP-10 probably also plays a role in regulation of the growth of immature hematopoietic progenitor cells. It has been shown to suppress in vitro colony formation of highly enriched cells expressing the cell surface marker CD34 in the presence of SCF, GM-CSF, or SCF and EPO, but not in their absence with the exception of SCF.|
|Molecular Weight||9.0 kDa|
|Endotoxin Level||<1.0 EU/μg of recombinant protein as determined by the LAL method.|
|Purity||>95% as determined by SDS-PAGE|
|Bioactivity||Determined by its ability to chemoattract human T-Lymphocytes using a concentration of 10-50 ng/mL.|
|Formulation||Lyophilized from 0.2 μm filtered PBS solution, pH 7.0.|
|Reconstitution||A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.|
|Storage||The lyophilized protein is stable for at least one year from date of receipt at -70°C. Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2° - 8°C for one month, or at -20°C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.|
|Usage||For research use only. Not for diagnostic or therapeutic use.|
· Endotoxin is generally measured in Endotoxin Units per milliliter (EU/mL).
· For recombinant proteins: EU is reported per microgram of protein.
· One EU = 0.1-0.2 ng endotoxin/µg of protein.
· At abm, we do the LAL chromogenic assays that can detect down to 0.01 EU/ml.
