|*Notes about Promo Codes: For NON-DISCOUNT promo codes (i.e. free items or shipping) please enter them during check out in the Notes/Promo Code field. To enter a DISCOUNT promo code enter it into the corresponding box in the 'Promo/% Off' column and then click 'Update' for the given product. If the code is valid for that product the discount percentage will display in place of the box and the amount will become the discounted total for that product(s). If the code is not valid it will remain in the box, please double check the expiry and spelling, and if you feel the code should still be accepted please contact us.|

Recombinant Human Thrombopoietin (THPO)
|Description||Thrombopoietin, known also as TSF (thrombopoiesis stimulating factor), for mediator substances that function as natural stimulators of megakaryocytopoiesis and thus, promote the differentiation of platelets. Thrombopoietin stimulates an increase in the sizes and numbers of megakaryocytes. It also increases the number of small acetyl-cholinesterase positive cells that are early precursor cells of the megakaryocytic lineage. Thrombopoietin is a protein of 332 amino acids that shows significant homology with Epo (erythropoietin) in its N-terminal domain. A comparison of human and porcine Thrombopoietin sequences shows 83 % identity between the erythropoietin-like domains but only 67 % between the C- terminal domains.|
|Molecular Weight||35.0 kDa|
|Endotoxin Level||<1.0 EU/μg of recombinant protein as determined by the LAL method|
|Purity||>95% as determined by SDS-PAGE|
|Bioactivity||The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent proliferation of Mo7e cells was found to be in the range of 1-2 ng/mL|
|Formulation||Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in PBS (pH 7.0)|
|Reconstitution||A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.|
|Storage||The lyophilized protein is stable for at least one year from date of receipt at -70°C. Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2° - 8°C for one month, or at -20°C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.|
|Usage||For research use only. Not for diagnostic or therapeutic use.|
· Endotoxin is generally measured in Endotoxin Units per milliliter (EU/mL).
· For recombinant proteins: EU is reported per microgram of protein.
· One EU = 0.1-0.2 ng endotoxin/µg of protein.
· At abm, we do the LAL chromogenic assays that can detect down to 0.01 EU/ml.
