Laboratory Internship, 4-month position

Candidate with great performance during the 4-month will have the opportunity to be extended into a full-time position.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Performing literature research and supporting senior scientists in developing cutting edge molecular biology technology with the ultimate goal of commercialization.
• Upon on-site training, utilizing techniques including SDS-PAGE, Western Blots, PCR, qPCR (real time PCR), reverse transcription, cloning and subcloning, plasmid purification, protein purification, and cell culture.
• Participating in design, execution, analysis and interpretation of experiments.
• Computer assignments for data entry and website updates.

Qualifications, shortlisted candidates will have the following experience::
• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry or a relevant Life Science degree.
• Excellent organizational skills and problem solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, team environment
• Job training in areas related to life science and strong computer skills are a significant plus.

Production QC and Research Technician

    The successful candidate(s) will be part of the QC team our complete line of enzyme and PCR related products. The successful candidate(s) will have plenty of opportunities for fast track career development while being part of a highly diverse, innovative and interactive cohort of scientists.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Assist the senior scientists with on-going projects.
• Carry out production and QC according to SOPs.
• Maintain and organize all R&D, QC, and production records/documents carefully and neatly in detail.

Qualifications, shortlisted candidates will have the following experience:
• A minimum of BSc in Microbiology/Biochemistry/Biology
• Previous experience in PCR/qPCR for 6 months.
• Experience in preparing buffers/reagent mixtures.

Technical Support Specialist
    Applied Biological Materials Inc. is a Vancouver-based biotech company that develop and market research reagents to the life science community and biotech industry. Due to our continual growth, a Technical Support Specialist position is now available.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Communicate effectively with individuals/teams within the company to ensure high quality and timely expedition of customer requests.
• Help customers understand the applications of our products.
• Assist customers with solving their technical issues and providing technical support.
• Participate in activities and contribute ideas designed to improve customer satisfaction.
• Design custom services or identify the products that meet the customers' needs through discussions with the customer.
• Collaborate with internal teams on complex problems.
• Design solutions to problems that may be non-standard/unstructured and may require conceptual/creative thinking.

Qualifications, shortlisted candidates will have the following experience:
• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry or a relevant Life Science degree.
• Working genetic engineering experience in an industrial setting is highly valued.
• Customer support skills would be an asset.
• Very strong analytical approach to troubleshooting.

Research Scientist on Baculorvirus Expression System

    The successful candidate(s) will have plenty of opportunities for fast track career development while being part of a highly diverse, innovative and interactive cohort of scientists. The perspective scientist is required to be the future team leader of our recombinant DNA department. Previous experience with Baculorvius expression system and industry experience are a plus for consideration.
