Account Representative

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Communicate effectively with individuals/teams within the company to ensure high quality and timely expedition of customer requests.
• Coordinate order placements and logistics on behalf of the customers.
• Help customers understand the applications of our products.
• Develop promotions to encourage more interaction and sales from the customers.
• Participate in activities and contribute ideas designed to improve customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with internal teams on complex problems.
• Design solutions to problems that may be non-standard/unstructured and may require conceptual/creative thinking.

Qualifications:
• Highly fluent and professional English speaking and writing skills is mandatory
• Customer support experience is definitely an asset
• Strong analytical approach to troubleshooting
• Excellent communication skills, comfortable talking on phone and writing emails
• Job training in areas related to life science and strong computer skills are a significant plus.

Due to our continual growth, a Technical Support Specialist position is now available.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Communicate effectively with individuals/teams within the company to ensure high quality and timely expedition of customer requests.

• Assist customers with solving their technical issues and providing technical support.
• Participate in activities and contribute ideas designed to improve customer satisfaction.
• Design custom services or identify the products that meet the customers' needs through discussions with the customer.
• Collaborate with internal teams on complex problems.
• Design solutions to problems that may be non-standard/unstructured and may require conceptual/creative thinking.

Qualifications:
• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry or a relevant Life Science degree.
• Working genetic engineering experience in an industrial setting is highly valued.
• Customer support skills would be an asset.
• Very strong analytical approach to troubleshooting

    We are looking for a talented and experienced Post-Doc Scientist that has a solid background in molecular biology, protein biology, biochemistry or cell biology.

To be successful in this role, the candidate will have the following qualifications:
• Candidate must obtain a PhD degree during or after 2013, in a technical program of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or closely related field
• Experience with antibody development and stem cell considered an asset

Protein Research Scientist

In light of the need to expand its existing R&D portfolio, the Protein Science department at abm is currently looking for a protein scientist to join our team. The successful candidate(s) will have plenty of opportunities for fast track career development while being part of a highly diverse, innovative and interactive cohort of scientists.

    We are looking for a talented and experienced Protein Research Scientist that has a solid background in vector design, protein engineering, protein expression and purification. The ideal candidate would be familiar with various expression systems including bacterial, yeast, mammalian and/or insect cells. Experience with antibody development would be considered an asset. Fundamental scientific strengths in protein biochemistry, molecular biology and cell biology are required for this position.

To be successful in this role, the candidate will have the following qualifications:
• Candidate must possess a PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or closely related field OR Masters or postgraduate training in a technical program with 3+ years of relevant experience
• 3+ years of industrial experience are preferred
• Experience with antibody development considered an asset
• Experience with chemical formulation optimization as well as qPCR systems and applications

Marketing Assistant Internship
    Applied Biological Materials Inc. (abm) is an unique, wholesale supplier of premium quality genetic and cellular materials for life science research and the biotechnology industry. Constant refinement and advances in abm's R&D team allow abm to continually commercialize emerging and high-impact technologies, such as next generation sequencing and CRISPR/Cas9. Recognized as the 25th Fastest-Growing Companies in B.C. in 2015, abm is rapidly expanding. We are now offering an internship position for a reliable, motivated and detail-oriented individual. Candidate with great performance during the 4-month will have the opportunity to be extended into a full-time position.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Assisting a marketing associate with the implementation of a complete marketing program and marketing initiatives. Specifically, the student will help create and design marketing materials such as flyers, brochures, educational videos, slides shows and product comparison data.
• Contributing and managing the company’s social profiles, forums, blogs and podcasts with weekly updates.
• Opportunity to participate in trade shows and conferences.
• The potential candidate will learn and integrate cutting-edge technologies into presentable marketing campaigns.
• The potential candidate will gain insight on industry business operation and be exposed to various online platforms (i.e. science exchange) related to marketing activities.

To be successful in this role, the candidate will have the following qualifications
