Name Recombinant Human GDNF (E. coli)
Description GDNF is a disulfide-linked, homodimeric neurotrophic factor that belongs to the cystine-knot family of growth factors. Natively glycosylated, GDNF signals through a multi-component receptor system that comprises of a RET and one of the four GFRα receptors. In embryonic midbrain cultures, GDNF promotes the survival and morphological differentiation of dopaminergic neurons and increases their high-affinity dopamine uptake. Mature rat and human GDNF exhibit approximately 93% amino acid sequence identity and show considerable species cross-reactivity Recombinant Human GDNF is a non-glycosylated, disulfide-linked homodimer (30 kDa) consisting of 135 amino acids in each subunit.

Formulation Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in Sodium Citrate and NaCl (pH 4.0)
Function The ED50 as determined by the proliferation of rat C6 cells was found to be <0.1 ng/mL
Reconstitution A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.
Shipping Conditions This lyophilized protein is shipped at ambient temperature. Cold packs may be used if transit temperatures are elevated. The product remains stable during normal shipping conditions.
Storage Upon receipt, store lyophilized protein at –70°C for long-term storage. Short-term storage at –20°C is acceptable if necessary. Once reconstituted, store at 2–8°C for up to 1 month, or at –20°C for up to 6 months. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Usage For research use only. Not for diagnostic or therapeutic use.
