Trypsin

Trypsin is a proteolytic enzyme used to detach adherent cells and monolayers from culture vessels during cell harvesting and passaging. It cleaves at the C-terminal side of lysine and arginine, helping break down cell-adhering proteins for easy resuspension.

abm offers porcine-derived trypsin, Trypsin-EDTA, and gentle trypsin-like dissociation solutions for different cell culture needs.

Trypsin Inhibitors

Trypsin inhibitors are used after dissociation to stop residual trypsin activity. They help prevent unwanted protein degradation and protect cells from prolonged enzyme exposure.

Organic trypsin formulations require inhibitor-based neutralization, while synthetic trypsin-like alternatives can be deactivated by dilution.
