DMEM, or Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium, is basal medium widely used for the growth of many mammalian cells, such as primary fibroblasts, neurons, glial cells, HUVECs, smooth muscle cells, HeLa, 293, Cos-7, and PC-12 cell lines. This formulation contains low glucose. Supplementation is required, most commonly with 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS) for cell culture use, and requires a 5-10% CO2 environment to maintain physiological pH. With Without
