| Description |
Leibovitz L-15 Medium, is a bicarbonate-free basal medium. Most commonly used as a a buffering system for mammalian cell cultures in a bicarbonate/CO2 system. Medium is buffered by phosphates and free base amino acids instead of sodium bicarbonate; designed for supporting cell growth in environments without CO2 equilibration. Typically used to grow HEP-2 cells and primary explants of embryonic or adult human tissues. Supplementation is required, most commonly with 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS) for cell culture use.
