abm’s qPCR Lentivirus Titer Kit measures the physical titer (viral genome copy number) but reports results in terms of functional titer by using internal standards normalized to infectious units (IU/ml). While physical titer counts all viral particles—including non-functional or defective ones—functional titer reflects only those capable of successful transduction and transgene expression.
