DescriptionToll-like receptors (TLRs) are transmembrane proteins which have significant homology to interleukin-1 receptor family. They function as pattern recognition receptors either as homo- or heterodimer for functional activity. TLR2 or toll-like receptor functions as a heterodimer with TLR1 or TLR6. TLR2 had a role in response to viruses and has an association with herpes encephalitis in mice.

TLR2 Stable HEK293 Cell Line stably expresses TLR2, CD14, and NF-kB –driven-luciferase. It is valuable in screening TLR2-mediated inflammation inhibitors, acting as a cell-based screen system. The cells carry a hygromycin resistance gene for selection. This cell line is recommended for studies in TLR2-mediated signaling pathways, and further studies in developing drugs targeting TLR-mediated inflammation through both viral and bacterial infections.

Propagation Requirements
Use of PriCoatTMT25 Flasks (G299) or Applied Cell Extracellular Matrix (G422) is required for cell adhesion to the culture vessels. Grow cells inECM-coated culture vessels unless otherwise specified in the Propagation Requirements below.
The base medium for this cell line is Prigrow III medium available at abm, Cat. No. TM003. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum (TM999) to a final concentration of 10% and Penicillin/Streptomycin Solution (G255) to a final concentration of 1%.
Carbon dioxide (CO2): 5%, Temperature: 37.0°C.
