The cells are suitable for the screening and study of molecules on the PI3K/Akt pathway for diabetes and cancer-related research. This cell line is the can be used with the Luc-Akt-PH/YFP Stable MCF-7/B2 Stable Cell Line (available at abm, Cat. T3161) for experimental studies.

Propagation Requirements
Use of PriCoatTMT25 Flasks (G299) or Applied Cell Extracellular Matrix (G422) is required for cell adhesion to the culture vessels. Grow cells inECM-coated culture vessels unless otherwise specified in the Propagation Requirements below.
The base medium for this cell line is Prigrow III medium available at abm, Cat. No. TM003. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum (TM999) to final concentration of 10%, 1 mg/ml geneticin (G271), and Penicillin/Streptomycin Solution (G255) to a final concentration of 1%.
