Name Recombinant Human Noggin (NOG)
Description Noggin is a secreted homodimeric glycoprotein that binds to ligands of the TGF-beta family (BMPs) and regulates their activity by inhibiting their access to signaling receptors. Mature human Noggin protein contains an N-terminal acidic region, a central basic heparin-binding segment and a C-terminal cysteine knot structure. Noggin binds different BMPs with variable affinities, antagonizing specific BMPs during skeletal development. Noggin is expressed in defined areas of the adult central nervous system and peripheral tissues such as lung, skeletal muscle and skin.

Species Human (H. sapiens)
Appearance Lyophilized Powder
Molecular Weight 23 kDa
Endotoxin Level <1.0 EU/µg of recombinant protein as determined by the LAL method
Purity >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE
Formulation Lyophilized from a 0.2µm filtered solution in 30% CH3CN, 0.1% TFA
Function The ED50 was determined by induced alkaline phosphatase secretion in ATDC cells and was determined to be ≤ 20 ng/mL
Reconstitution A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in 10mM AcOH (acetic Acid) to a concentration not less than 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.
Shipping Conditions This lyophilized protein is shipped at ambient temperature. Cold packs may be used if transit temperatures are elevated. The product remains stable during normal shipping conditions.
Storage Upon receipt, store lyophilized protein at –70°C for long-term storage. Short-term storage at –20°C is acceptable if necessary. Once reconstituted, store at 2–8°C for up to 1 month, or at –20°C for up to 6 months. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Usage For research use only. Not for diagnostic or therapeutic use.
